Notes Regarding New Sections

User Tips & Feedback   Content & Privacy Statements

Several folks have asked why empty placeholders are used when a new section is being added to “The Little Engine That Could.” Since adding sections might become a familiar event, judging by the recommendations received from so many users, here are the reasons for using them.

Whenever a new search form or link is added to a section, only that page requires any modification. However, when a new section is added, that is a “ horse(iron horse) of a different color.” Of course, the new section itself must be created, but because the architecture of the “Little Engine” site requires every major page to be available from any other page with only one mouse click, ALL other pages on the web site have to be modified to link to the new section. As you can imagine, this is no small task and only gets more difficult over time. Placeholders are used so these links can be placed and fully tested while the section itself is created separately.

While it may be disappointing to find nothing but a placeholder where you expected to find a search section, its presence there represents our commitment to you that “The Little EngineThat Could” will continue to be the most user responsive, fastest, and easiest to navigate search site on the Internet. Thanks for your interest in the “Little Engine.”

“The Little Engine That Could” welcomes you aboard!
Enjoy The Ride!
