Make The Internet Safe For Children - CLICK HERE
Website Content Statement

User Tips & Feedback    Privacy Statement

Allied Professional Services, authors of "The Little Engine That Could" believe the content of this site to be completely free of materials considered unsuitable for viewing by children. However, because the primary purpose of this site is to search for information contained elsewhere on the Internet, care should be taken by parents wishing to make decisions about the electronic media available to their children.

With labels generated by ICRA - The Internet Content Rating Association, an industry standard known as PICS, the Platform for Internet Content Selection, was used to mark the "Little Engine" site for content. This kind of labeling allows families to be sure their online experience supports their values, without compromising free expression or undermining access to information for those whose values differ.

ICRA is a non-profit organization with offices in Brighton, UK and Washington DC, USA. Members include many of the Internet industry's leading names from around the world. ICRA's labeling system is designed to be as objective as possible, and to cover a wide range of content types. The system gives users a great deal of flexibility in their choices of what should and shouldn't be seen in their home or workplace.

The (US) National Academy of Sciences (National Research Council) has released the results of its study: "Youth, Pornography, and the Internet." This report reinforces our long held belief that the best way of protecting children online is through "user empowerment" - giving families the tools to control their online experience. Full technical details of PICS can be found at the World Wide Web Consortium web site.

For more information about how to keep children safe on the Internet, or to learn how to filter media content for your children, go to NetParents, or click on the ICRA label at the far bottom left of any page on this site.
